A new fall, new year and lots to share!

Yesterday began with a foggy morning. This is something we haven't seen in a long time! Somewhere in the fog below is a barn with pen of 13 calves. They have never seen fog, and this rain was the first moisture they have seen in their life!

Just in the distance is a set of dog kennels and an overhead feed bin. Usually it takes a blizzard for all of these to disappear! And a side note - I'm standing on our front porch!

Right now I am confined to a vehicle and have time, energy and the ability to update the blog. We are travelling for a day, but only 30 minutes from home Tana asked if were there yet and it will 5.5 more hours till we get there!

I will be updating the food page and tell you about breakfast yesterday, and also the ranch page on how everything is branded! It's Monday, have a great week and I'm looking forward to being back on the blog! There are lots of new things coming for our family. A new breeding program is in place and we are looking forward to the 2013 calf crop. Tana started school this year and is doing great. Tate is in the fourth grade and homework has occupied a little more time than last year. But his stepdad is already on the hunt for pigs, so he'll be in the showring soon. We plan to upgrade the herd and are working on adding a few show heifers and more registered cattle this year. As for Ryan, he's on the downhill slide of making last preparations for winter, it will be here soon. Me on the other hand have added a few more projects to my list in preparations for a few upcoming crafts shows. I'll share more on those later!
